Online nutritional therapy consultations available now via Zoom
Q - What is Nutritional Therapy?
A - The application of nutritional and lifestyle medical sciences for the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care.
A Registered Nutritional Therapist can identify nutritional imbalances and their contribution to individual symptoms and health concerns. Personalised nutrition and lifestyle plans are created to support health goals. Recommendations are not a replacement for medical advice and practitioners do not diagnose or treat disease. Nutritional Therapists work alongside medical professionals to support individual wellbeing.
Nutritional therapy is a form of complimentary medicine and is used by individuals experiencing chronic conditions or seeking to enhance their health and wellbeing.
Q - Do you recommend supplements?
A - Nutrition with food is always the priority. Where there is a need, high quality and appropriate supplements will be suggested. Clients are advised how long to take these for and prior checks are made for any interactions with medications.
Q - Do you recommend diagnostic tests?
A - The body gives us clues as to where the root cause of an issue may be. I prefer to work with clients' symptoms, which are detailed during a thorough case-taking in the initial consultation. However, in some instances it may be appropriate to refer you for testing with your GP. I can prepare a referral letter to help with this. If standard tests do not provide enough information, I will recommend private testing. Testing is optional and will always be discussed during our consultation. Testing will incur an extra charge to pay the lab.
Q - Can you give nutritional advice to children/young people?
A - Yes! People of all ages are welcome, however anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all consultations.
